This post is inspired by Beth at Hungry Happenings where you can find the full recipe and many more fun dessert idea.  Basically I use Pillsbury pie crust from refrigerated section, can be found at normal grocery stores and follow the instruction on the package. My little tip is I don’t like thick pie. I like more Nutella on my pie (^_^), so I roll the pie dough to be thinner. Spread Nutella on the pie dough and bake in the oven for 8 minutes. (Depending on how thick you pie dough is, the cooking time may vary.) That’s it, very simple and yummieee!

For Angry Panda, I use the small cut outs from Panda eyes and place it as eye brown and mustache.

 

March 2, 2013 is Dr. Seuss’ 109th Birthday. So I made this easy Cat in the Hat using our CuteZcute Cat cutter and my new food container “Goodbyn”. In our Pinterest Board, I found this easy but so cute idea from Chaos and Confections blog. The cat is Cheese. The hat is tomato and Jack cheese, cut by knife. Serve on top of healthy veggie wrap. It is wrapped by Tortilla (I love Tortilla Land), filled with an assortment of avocado, corn, chilies, cheese, tomatoes and baked beans. Strawberry represents Thing 1 Thing 2. Serve with Salad.

This bento lunch features cute Kitty goes sightseeing. The kitty’s face is made using two different types of bread, cheese, decorated by carrot. It is simple and can be made very fast, perfect for breakfast. Served with yogurt and strawberry. The kitty’s body is made using upside down outer face cutter and cut the top a bit to fit kitty’s face. The camera is made using bread, cut by normal kichen’s knife into small rectangle shape. Camera’s lens is a slice of carrot.

Halloween is coming. It’s time to find that perfect costume and get as many tricks or treats as you can. We wish everybody a safe and happy halloween.

Here are some fun halloween themed bento lunches that you’ll sure be frighten up. (^_^)

Above is Panda pocket sandwich with yummy filling, served with broccoli orange salad and strawberry. (see below how to make pocket sandwich)

This cemetery themed bento lunch includes Nutella cat sandwich, caskets cheese sandwich. We use the crust of the bread for the cross and use food pick to stick the sandwich together. Served with corn, pepper pork Asian fusion salad, and jack o lantern witch made from an apple, in Nutella mud.

How to make Animal Pocket Sandwich:
1. Using two pieces of bread of your choice and use CuteZcute Food Deco Kit to cut out (or stamp) the cute animal face on a piece of bread.
2. Place the second piece of bread in the base (black part) of the pocket sandwich mold and pre-cut in the shape of outer animal head.
3. Insert an appropriate amount of your favorite filling in the middle of the bread, for example, peanut butter, strawberry jam, mayo tuna, cheese, ham, turkey.
4. Place the first piece of bread (the pre-cutout or pre-stamp one) on top of the second piece of bread.
5. Press down firmly.

October the 4th is the World Animal Day. To celebrate, we make Octopus easy afternoon snack using the CuteZcute cutter. (pig face mold)

How to make Octopus shaped bread

1. Use CuteZcute Cutter and Stamp Kit  (the outer Animal frame shape) to cut the main body of octopus
2. Use the Pig face cutter to cut out the nose part for octopus tentacles. (cut 4 pieces)
3. Use the crust of the bread (to get darker tone) and place into the small circles of the tentacles to use as octopus’s suctions.
4. Flip the frame of the animal head up side down and stamp Pig face on bread to get a guideline for octopus’s eyes and mouth
5. Cut pepper (we use yellow pepper and olives) for the mouth, and candy eye ball for eyes (replaced with sweet pea or other favorite circle veggie)

Ingredients Used

Octopus shaped bread with yellow pepper, olives, vegetable curry puff (the octopus hat) sweet green peas, boiled shrimp, tomato, spinach, and colored gold fish cracker.  (picture above)

You will need:

1. A slice of cheese
2. CuteZcute Cutter (Frog Shape)
3. CuteZcute Assistant Pick

Now let’s make frog shaped cheese
Step 1. Place the CuteZcute cutter (frame) on the cheese and push down to cut
Step 2. Place the Frog shaped face cutter inside the frame and push down to cut
Step 3. While pushing down the Frog shaped face cutter, pull up the frame cutter. Then take out the face cutter.

DONE! Easy, isn’t it?

Tip – Use the CuteZcute assistant food pick to help release cheese out of the cutter (if needed)

How to use

- When cutting delicate food like cheese, use the included panda assistant pick and apply small pressure to tap out the food. Multiple taps around the edges of the shape will help clean release of the food out of the mold.

Tip to make fun food

- Keep in the frame cutter as the guide to ensure the exact position of the cute animal faces.
- Stamp function works great on soft bread.
- When playing with bread, if your favorite bread is not soft, you may warm it up in microwave for 5-10 seconds.

- These sandwich cutters are intended for use by adults but can be used by children over 3 with adult supervision.  Assistant pick is choking hazard for children under 3 yrs old. Please do not eat it. (^_^) Like other food preparation cooking tool, result may vary.
